After returning to Scotland, she worked freelance as a stage/production manager, workshop leader, events manager, sound engineer and part time lecturer at Dundee College. Her interests in youth and community work led her to direct seven productions in Fife and Tayside. She then took up a full time position as Stage Management Lecturer at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh where she worked for 15 years contributing to building a very successful Stage Management course. She now continues to provide vocational training in Stage Management at Adam Smith College in Fife.
Her research interests include creativity in stage management and developing software for training stage managers in cueing techniques. She continues to develop her production experience through company and events management and as a board member for the Stage Management Association, is able to participate in their work developing and enhancing the professional life of the stage manager.
